I’ve started getting myself to the gym more regularly lately. My eating habits need a little work, but eh… I’ll get there. haha I have been better, though. One of my biggest downfalls is pop. Ohh my goodness, I love me a glass of Coca Cola on ice. Ugh.
Anyway.
I’ve been doing the Couch to 5k training. (check it out here) It basically has you doing intervalls of walking and jogging for a 9 week period, and by the end you should be able to run a 5k (3.1 miles) without stopping. Right now I’ve only been running on a treadmill. Hopefully it’ll get nice out soon (it’s been raining and storming like crazy where I live), so I can actually get outside and do some interval training. As many of you may know, running on a treadmill is considerably easier than running on solid ground. Solid ground doesn’t force you to keep running like a treadmill does. =p But for now, running on the treadmill, along with other leg exercises, is helping my legs get stronger. I’m not too worried about running fast right now- I’m more concerned about endurance. Once I’m able to jog a 5k without stopping or slowing down, I’ll work on improving my speed.
So, yeah, check it out if running is something you want to get into or improve on. It’s a really helpful training technique, I think. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of running, I get bored really easily, so I have to have music or something on Netflix to keep me entertained. haha But hopefully in a couple months I’ll be a lot better at it, and maybe even come to enjoy it.
